Baking soda

For all those who've asked, regarding baking soda for washing your hair, more is not better. Less is better, otherwise your hair will feel heavy and limp. Depending how long or thick your hair is, use about a tablespoon or less.

And by the way, mayonaisse does NOT make a good hair conditioner. You have to re-shampoo your hair to get the oilyness out.

Bike Ride (for real this time!)

We loaded our bicycles and drove to the pavement, then rode our bicycles from there to the post office. It was an 8 mile round trip from where we parked the car. Parts of the road were slushy or icy, mainly in shady places or the north side of hills. The rest was mostly dry pavement. It was cloudy and 35 degrees, but a few layers of clothes and jackets kept the wind chill from, well, chilling us!

Swimmin' hole

Try to get everyone together at a restaurant and it doesn't work. Now that most of the kids live in Kalispell it's not a treat any more. So, the answer? Meet at a pool, and they all come! 6 out of 7, anyway, plus their spouses and the grandkids. Bryan wasn't able to make it.

Swimmin' hole

This smiling little sweetie is Amy and Kevin's little daughter, Anna, who was born Nov. 7th 2009.
Amy (the Mom) gets a chance to swim while Steven (the Grandpa) entertains Jonathan, David, and Andrew.
Here's Kevin (the Dad) helping Jonathan (age 7) learn to swim, while Steven (Grandpa) watches.

Grandma's cookies

My Grandma had coffee cans on a cabinet in her kitchen that always had cookies in them when we visitied. My favorite was her chocolate marshmallow cookies. I snuck in the can over and over and kept slipping out one or two and eating them! I don't recall being scolded for it, so maybe Grandma was happy I liked her cookies so much!

Tristan's Birthday

Yesterday (Feb. 1st) was Tristan's birthday. He's an old man now. 20. Not a teenager any more! I've made sure he knows that he's OLD now! haha!

That's a frog in the middle of his cake!

Today is groundhog day. No shadow here. It's overcast and 38 degrees, and trying to snow despite the "warm" temperature.

Tristan went to Eureka today and picked up the brushes for his alternator. When he got home, he and Steven put them on. All fixed!

I dug my Aircycle exercise bike out of the barn today. I'm giving it to Kathleen. Her foot isn't healing very fast and she's going nuts not being able to walk. I have to go pick up a UPS package in Fortine pretty soon, so I'll drop the bike off on my way out. I still have to go for MY walk today too, though I've done my stair-stepper already.
