'Tis the season...

"I'll rip your face off...oh, and by the way, Merry Christmas!"

Tristan borrowed Emily's 3' artificial Christmas tree to use for the Christmas party for the
fire department, and he set the box across the arms of the chair when he brought it back.


"Help, let me out!"
That would have been the caption if I got the picture a few seconds sooner.
The kitten had been looking at me through the bars of the chairback.


"Hah! I'll get you, you villaneous floor-sweeper!"
It's always a challenge to sweep or vaccuum with the cat around!
One of her favorite things to do is to race across the floor and slide through my dirt pile when I'm sweeping with the broom!


The deer Steven and Tristan each shot back in deer season have been frozen solid.
Steven finally put one in his workshop and kept the fire going in the woodstove out there for a day, and the next day he was able to skin it and start cutting it up.
Then Christmas came and we were busy for a few days, and the deer froze again, so we'll have to wait to get the rest of it canned.
These are venison chunks, browned and ready to can. I'm happy to say that
all the jars sealed!


Odie says "Oh yes! Finally someone visited with dogs for me to play with!"
Son Bryan and his wife, Kristine, came up for for Christmas Eve day. It was a blast!
We played cards (Rummy) for hours at the kitchen table! We had venison potpie for lunch/dinner. It was made with our own venison, potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery.
We also had cherry pie. They gave us an awesome present!
They had printed up a collage-style sheet of pictures of their life over the past year, and
then framed it. It's cool, and fun to look at!




A spring broke on Bryan's truck as they were coming up our road.
As anyone knows who's been up here, our road is very rough.

Steven and Bryan did a temporary redneck repair. They jacked up the truck to take the weight off the spring, then pushed it down against the other part of it. Using a chain and bolts, they wrapped it and held it in place. It held up on their drive home, and now they can do a

real repair on it.

I made more hotpads, this time for family members.

The kitten gave her approval for this fabric!

Sewing

I still need to sew the hanging loop on the top hot pad, but I think they are very cute.

They're for my sister. I'm going to use some of the remaining fabric to make an oven mitt to match. I have hot pads to finish for other family members, too.

I don't know why it takes me so long to get things done.

We wore these hats to the grocery store the day after Christmas, and young children were staring at Steven in awe! Some kids even said "hi, Santa" to him!

We hope everyone had a blessed Christmas

and

we hope you are all blessed in the new year.

The way the world, politics/laws, and our nation's economy are going,

we're going to need all the blessing we can get.
