Susan gets a goat!

(Don't be silly, that's a cat, not a goat!)
"Does this couch make my hips look fat?"

Steven and our new goat, in the back of the Cherokee after the 11-mile drive home from Rich and Karen's house. They were wonderful enough to give us this adorable goat, who will (hopefully) happily munch up a lot of the brush around our place! Because of the mountain lion that's been spotted in our neighborhood a few times this past week, we'll be keeping him in the pen and bringing the brush to him! Now when I weed my garden I can keep a bucket nearby and dump the pulled weeds in the goat pen.

"Bear", the dog, comes to meet the goat. Steven's leg fell asleep on the ride home, but he was all right after a few minutes.

The goat peers through the gate on the goat pen. Now we have the joy of deciding on a name for him!
Eat your way out of this, goatling! The weeds and wildflowers have grown uncut this season in anticipation of this little guy. He's a Pack Goat breed, and hopefully we'll be able to train him to lead and pack. We have a set of dog saddlebags that we might be able to adapt and expand on. We need to do some research and see how much they can carry and how old they need to be, and how to train them.

"Hm...surely they don't think that goat can be as cute as ME? I better start brushing up on my 'cute' act!"
